Teens I.D.O.L. Camp (10-12 Dec 2010)

Hi Guys and Gals,

The registration for Teens I.D.O.L. camp (Intensive Development of Leadership) opens already on 30 Oct’10. Attached are the sign-up and parents’ consent form for your reference. For those of you who did not get the forms from Mingchun on last Sunday, please print this out and get your parents to sign.

Pass the money and consent form to me on Sat (13th Nov 2010) when you go for the iLoveSingapore Walk. I need to sign you up this weekend, cos it's first come first serve basis.

There is an age cap for the Teens IDOL camp. Once you are past 18 years old, you have to attend the adult training for the SOL. It's going to be very tedious for you, cos the training is on every week, and you need 100% attendance for clearance. So, please try your best to go for this training.

If you can't print out and you need me to mail you the hard copy, please sms me by Thursday (11th Nov 2010). Thank you.

Mission Trip to East Timor (2 – 9 November 2010)
• This is will be a medical team of 10 people in which 2 are doctors & 1 nurse.
• Ps James Sng will be leading this team from Singapore.
• Pray for Ps Catherine who is our missionary there as she co-ordinates this trip.
• Good health, ability to adapt, good road conditions, good weather (it is rainy season now).
• Good team spirit among the team.
• The team will be well received by the locals there and many healings taking place.

ILove Singapore Walk (13 November @ the Padang)
• Pray for good & fine weather on the day of the walk.
• Pray for God’s favor & direction to be upon the committee who is planning this event.
• Pray that as the donations cards go out, the donors will give generously. We will be able to raise $800,000 for the disadvantaged and the needy.
• Pray that more Churches in Singapore will be involved in this walkathon.
• The Guest-of-honour for this event is Senior Minister Professor S. Jayakumar.
• Pray that the name of Jesus will be lifted up on the day of the walk.

Alternative Venue Usage for Gkidz in EXPO (by March 2011 onwards)
• Pray for favor, wisdom & direction to upon our COO & Senior Pastors as they look for alternative meeting place for Gkidz Celebration in EXPO.
• 850 children who are currently using Hall 9 will be affected by this.
• Pray for God’s will & purpose to prevail throughout this period.
• The decision that will be made will bring in more families into our church.

Christmas Magic (17 – 19 December)
• Pray for God's leading to be upon Ps Melvyn Mak as he heads this evangelistic event.
• Pray for the Celebration team and Special Events team as they organize this event.
• Pray for the team at GE as they prepare themselves for this production.

Hi gers and guys,

Early this year, I was pretty inspired by Eugene's encounter with God on asking God and receiving answered prayer. Read Matthew 7:7:

"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door
will be opened to you.

On that, i prayed to God that as your leader I will also encountered much amazing answered prayers this year so as to show you that God is real and God is true on His promise that when we ask Him according to His will, we will receive. Read Matthew 7:7 again : )

Much of our time is spent at out school or workplace, we need to constantly ask God to be with us and seek His anointing and power so that we may carry out His work where he placed us. Work/School work is the ministry that God has called us to be in.

As u know, God has blessed me with a larger office this year. Since then, I have been prompted by the Holy Spirit to dare to pray for large, bulk coporate orders to come in. Some of u know that, it really came in, with a request from a local Hospital to order 1800+ pencil cases for their nurses in early March. It blew our mind as it way past whatever we have done before. However, as there's competition in bidding for this deal, I started praying and asing people to pray for me. It was our church 40 days of prayer season then, and i sensed it was God way's of honouring my desire to pray regularly then and teaching me to have a higher fiath level...

Pray Specifically
God has been teaching me to pray specifically, in this case its bulk orders for the business. 1800+ is a super humongous deal if u consider just how many company out there has more than 1000+ staff? the best i ever done was 150 pieces for a local school teachers... Thus, although there are times where we pray in general, there are more times when we need to be as specific as we can..

Step out in Faith
Next, God wants us to step out in faith. sometimes, just praying and not doing anything does not help, so i make sure i do my proposal bid well and communicated well with the Hospital manager. And also I also shared it with some of u. daring to share to someone about what u are praying for is a thing that we need to do. The reason is that when God answered the prayer, ppl who knows about it will rejoice and delight in the Lord together.. and i think its part of stepping out in faith to share about prayer requests with ppl in your community...

Pray Until
Last but not least, God has been teaching me to pray until. Pray until the prayer is being answered. I send in the bid in early March. 1 month passed, 2 months passed without a confirmation. U can imagined the various negative scenarios that passed thru my mind. Doubts, worries came, but passed as i persisted in prayers. It came till a stage where God has imparted upon me a seed faith where i know that i know i have the deal even though the hospital manager has not yet confirm with me. When you have allow God to work in you till this stage, God will truly and surely bless u becos u have pray thru it and pray until it happen !

True enough, God is good and I got the biggest deal of my business last week and now we are busily doing the orders. Hallelujah. very amazing really : )

So gers and guys, I am sure that there is something in you that you truly desire and you know that in God's good will, its something that He wants u to achieve also. Therefore, do pray specifically, step out in faith and pray until it happen. Be it a good school result, salvations of friends, or health or family issues at home.. let's learn to pray and ask God for breakthru.

When u pray until u know that u know that God is going to bless u. Then what a blessed life we are living when we know that God is with us.

Hi Guys and Gals,

As announced last Sunday, your leaders will be going to Johor Bahru, for the Youthnet 144 Re-Encounter on 30 April-2 May 2010 (Fri-Sun). Do keep us in prayer. Pray that the Lord will speak to us, and we'll have a new revelation from God.

Do bear in mind that there's on cell group on this coming Sunday (2nd May 2010). On 9th May, Cell group meeting will be replaced by the "40 Days Of Faith" Training! Are you excited? I hope you are... Lol..

In case you forgot or don't know...

As announced by Senior Pastor, FCBC will embark on 40 Days of Faith on 1 August 2010, where we will rise up to God's calling for us. The training will be offered in English and Mandarin, and the whole youthnet will be going for the training on 09 May 2010 (Sun), 1.00pm - 3.30pm at The MAX Pavilion. The sessions are free and no registration is required.

Revival is coming - let's get ready for the multitudes!

Please take care of one another, help each other to book seats. Look out for each other. Go for lunch as usual, but please let your parents know k.. =) All the best for those who are having exams (Sec 4s)..

TGIF update

Hi guys and gals,

Thank u for serving in the four TGIF parties faithfully! Well done, all of u did a good job, your leaders are very proud of all of u! :)

Just to update everyone (although a bit late.. Lol..) on the TGIF parties that we had.

One of my ex-pupils, Xiaoli (Jeslyn), whom most of you already know, received Christ on the last TGIF party we had (at Zhengjia's house). She eager to join our cell group. However, she has a lot of extra lessons (outside school) on sat and sun. And also, she's scared to let her parents know of her conversion cos they might object to it. Pls pray with her on the following things:

1) Her parents will change her lesson timings so that she can go to church
2) She will know the right timing to let her parents know of her conversion, and her parents will not object to it, so that she can come to church.
3) God will bless Xiaoli with a new phone (I-phone 3GS) before this year's christmas day.

Note: Xiaoli's current phone is faulty, she can only receive and send smses, it's quite difficult to contact her in times of emergency. Pray that God will "restore" her phone, and "revive" it (whatever you call it! Lol..)

Do keep this newborn baby in Christ in prayers. Pray that her prayer requests are granted so that she may know that with God all things are possible.

Besides Xiaoli, there are some of the invites who are quite open but not so ready to receive Christ, do continue to pray for them (especially those who brought them and those who know them personally).

Balancing the Natural and the Spiritual

"No king is saved by the size of his army; no warrior escapes by his great strength. A horse is a vain hope for deliverance; despite all its great strength it cannot save" (Psalm 33:16-17).

The Bible tells us not to put our confidence in things the world considers to be our protection, defense, or strength. However, the man or woman who does not perform well on the job is left behind in today's competitive world. Not only is this typical of the world at large, but even many Christians promote the importance of identifying our strengths and encourage us to move in them to accomplish God's will. Yet, throughout the Bible, we are discouraged from depending upon our own strengths. Instead, we are urged to rely totally upon the Lord.

God wants us to depend upon Him, and He demonstrates this throughout Scripture. For example, in Judges 7, God wouldn't let Gideon fight against another army until he reduced his own from 22,000 soldiers to a mere 300, so that Gideon could not boast about his army's strength. In Joshua 6, God told Joshua to walk around Jericho seven times and blow trumpets instead of relying upon his mighty army to overpower his enemy. In 2 Samuel 24, God judged David when he counted his troops to determine the size of his army's strength, apparently because David took the census out of pride or overconfidence in the strength of his army.

On the other hand, Jesus instructed the disciples in due diligence through the parable of the builder, who is cautioned to consider the cost before beginning to build. "Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost to see if he has enough money to complete it? For if he lays the foundation and is not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule him, saying, 'This fellow began to build and was not able to finish'" (Luke 14:28-30).

Today, bring every project and endeavor before the Lord as you ask for His power and grace to accomplish it using both your natural gifts and the Spirit of God working together.

Whose Report Will You Believe?

Today's Truth
"We should go up and take possession of the land," they said, "for we can certainly do it...If the LORD is pleased with us, he will lead us into that land, a land flowing with milk and honey, and will give it to us" (Numbers 13:30, 14:8 NIV).

Friend To Friend
This month, I've been talking a lot about faith. Believing God...it's what takes us into our personal Promised Land. In the Old Testament, God brought the Israelites out of the bondage of Egyptian slavery. Moses led the people under the blood-stained doorframes of the Passover, across the dry land of the Red Sea, and into the land flowing with milk and honey. The travelers witnessed God part the sea, rain down quail from heaven, scatter manna on the ground, and pour water from a rock. He guided them by a fire at night and a cloud by day. And yet, when it came time to march into the Promised Land, the land that was theirs for the taking, they faced a crisis of belief.

"Send some men to explore the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the Israelites," God instructed Moses. So Moses sent twelve spies to scout out the land. When they returned, ten gave the following report:

"We went into the land where you sent us and it does flow with milk and honey!" they said. "But the people who live there are powerful, and the cities are fortified and very large...We can't attack those people; they are stronger than we are...The land we explored devours those living in it. All the people we saw there are of great size...We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them" (Numbers 13:27-33).

But two of the spies, Caleb and Joshua, believed God. "We should go up and take possession of the land," they said, "for we can certainly do it! If the LORD is pleased with us, he will lead us into that land, a land flowing with milk and honey, and will give it to us. Only do not rebel against the LORD. And do not be afraid of the people of the land, because we will swallow them up. Their protection is gone, but the LORD is with us. Do not be afraid of them." (Numbers 13:30, 14: 8, 9).

Guess whom the people believed? They believed the "evil report" - the ten men who did not believe God rather than the two men who did. God had already given them the land; the people simply had to move forward and posses it. But instead of moving into the Promised Land, they wandered in the desert for the rest of their lives. That entire generation of adults died in their unbelief, except for Caleb and Joshua.

But when the next generation came along, they believed God and moved into the Promised Land that their parents never saw. We can be just like that unbelieving generation - saved from slavery but wandering in the desert of unbelief. I have an acronym for fear: False Evidence Appearing Real. They only saw the giants, but failed to see Almighty God.

Oswald Chambers notes:

Human frailty is another thing that gets between God's words of assurance and our own words and thoughts. When we realize how feeble we are in facing difficulties, the difficulties become giants, we become like grasshoppers, and God seems to be non-existent. But remember God's assurance to us: "I will never ...forsake you." Have we learned to sing after hearing God's keynote? Are we continually filled with enough courage to say, "The Lord is my Helper," or are we yielding to fear?

So here's my question to you. Whose report are you going to believe? Are you going to believe God's Word is true, or the enemy who tries to stop you from entering your own Promised Land because of fear?

Satan says, "You can't do it." God says, "I already have."

I don't want to be like those Israelites who didn't believe God. Do you? Are you going to move into the land flowing with milk and honey - take God's promises and make them yours? Or, are you going to believe the evil report and continue wandering around in the desert - free from slavery, but missing the Promised Land? Whose report are you going to believe?

Let's Pray
Dear LORD, forgive me for being like the Israelites who didn't believe You. Forgive me when I focus on the giants in the land rather than the giant-slayer. Today, I commit to take You at Your Word. I'm believing God today and moving forward to take the land You have already given me!

the TGIF video

Hi guys and girls,

TGIF is 2 days away, let's remember to text or call our friends to remind them of the party. As there was concern over a portion of the video on the main character Suzanne writhing scenes on the ground during her deliverance from idolatry. I thought I need to address this issue to all of you so that there is a common understanding. Please read my personal views below in blue.. i will post on blog too.

While growing up, I was like most of the children of my generation, who followed the beliefs and practices of my family’s religion i.e worshipping of ancestors and idols such as guan yin, Buddha…

Suzanne’s story
In the TGIF video, we watched that the main character Suzanne was an addicted gambler who often visit the temple medium or fortune teller to pray and ask for better luck on the gambling table.

We see how in the end the temple medium guy was a fake and how Suzanne lost everything in her life from addiction and following the idols.

Praise God that she was saved in Christ and was delivered from her past sins. Importantly, one of the scenes in deliverance see manifestation of the evil spirits in Suzanne’s body- resulting in scars appearing over her body, vomiting, and while being pray for by her cell mates, she was seen writhing around on the floor.

One of you actually sms Jefferson and myself expressing concerns that it might freak your friends out and it might not be a good show for them to watch during TGIF.

Exposing the devil’s tactic
First, I will like to identify this as a lie or a worry tactic from the devil where He wants to concern some of us with the content presented thru the video.

Think about it, this is the only TGIF 2010 video make for the Singapore churches and most of us will be using it. If the Churches’ Pastor approves it and God allows it, it must be a strong powerful material that should be use by God’s ppl.

Since we are part of the community, we need to follow thru with God’s best weapon to attack the wall of unbelief of the pre-believing community.

Secondly, as many of us grew up in a Christian family, we may be unfamiliar with the idolatry practice of this world.

Back to my growing up experience. As part of my previous idolatry practice, I had went to many temples before in my life and that includes going to temple medium or fortune teller. I can’t remember drinking blood as Suzanne did, but I have drank enough water mixed with amulet ashes to know that the devil uses many different rituals to draw ppl to pursue prosperity, peace and protection in an idolatrous way.

I probably take a few more pages to describe to you the many different rituals that I been through, and how I once encountered evil spirit, become sick for a month and went to a few mediums to have the spirit chase out of my body.

Similarly, after I got saved, I also had to encounter God’s deliverance to be set free from this idolatry past. There was several ‘mark’ of evil practices on my body and I have to declared a war against it till I was set free. I encountered God deliverance last year and since then, I was blessed with much visions and dreams from God. I was free to live an abundant life.

The video is make for pre-believers in mind
Consequently, for your pre-believing friends, I believe they might come from such a background too where the family practice some form of idolatry, and thus the show does have a important impact on your friends perspective on the religion that they are practicing now. i have one sec school who was crudely informed by his fortune teller that he won't live past 20 years old. it got him worried up till 20 years old. 20 did come, so did 21, 22, up till now.. so we could see how temple mediums could have major impact on a person's life by predicting one's life course..

I believe the Holy Spirit is exposing the deceitfulness of the idolatry practices of the world and bringing the truth of Christ to the world esp thru this TGIF.

Pray for yourself to be strong and trust God that all things will work out well. If any of your friends expressed concerns of the deliverance portions, its actually an excellent opportunity for us to share about the love and power of God to set ppl free from a life of curses and lack.

May you be encouraged with the following word from Apostle Paul:
2 Timothy 1:6-9: 6For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. 7For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.
8So do not be ashamed to testify about our Lord, or ashamed of me his prisoner. But join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God, 9who has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace.

May God strengthens you and grant you wisdom!

Many times, we say we want our faith level to increase. So, how then do we increase our faith? This article might give you further insight.. Enjoy reading.

I pray that as we seek God earnestly and diligently, He will be pleased with us. Let us draw near to God in this season. Please uphold Pastor Khong and his family, as well as our tribe leaders (Ps Debra and Ps Zhouqi), cell leaders (Jefferson, Mingchun and Joelle) and all our fellow cell brothers and sisters. These prayers are important, cos without Joshua, the whole Joshua Generation will be gone. Let's pray for unity in the body of Christ and as well as spiritual breakthrough in our walk with God.

All Christians want, or should want, to increase their faith. But those who have given their lives to Christ have come to realize that success does not come from our own human attempts; we always fail.

1 Corinthians 4:7 reminds us, “What makes you better than anyone else? What do you have that God hasn't given you? And if all you have is from God, why boast as though you have accomplished something on your own?”
Without God, we are left to our own resources, which plague us with pride, stubbornness, indifference, insensitivity, and failure. The only one we can count on who absolutely will not fail us is God (Hebrews 13:5).

Beginning our journey of faith with God requires that we immerse ourselves in His Word (Titus 1:13-14). We must learn about His love, His justice, His mercy, and His plan. We must form a relationship with Him, so that we can know Him personally through His Son, Jesus Christ (John 17:3). We should ask Him to reveal Himself to us and change us.

The Bible promises that if we seek God, we will find Him (Matthew 7:7). And if we allow Him to, He will transform us into new people who can know His will (Romans 12:2). We have to be willing to die to our old selves and let go of the pride and selfishness that kept us from Him for so long.

As God changes us, we will learn to develop the fruit that comes from the Holy Spirit, who dwells in all Christians (Galatians 5:22-23; John 14:17). As we walk in the Spirit, allowing Him to control our lives, we will begin to trust in Him.
“Let your roots grow down into him and draw up nourishment from him, so you will grow in faith, strong and vigorous in the truth you were taught. Let your lives overflow with thanksgiving for all he has done” (Colossians 2:7).
If our trust in God is going to grow, we have to learn to step out in faith, moving out of our comfort zone and taking chances. If we believe that God will sustain us for that day, we can be free to carry out His will, regardless of the consequences.

Whenever we face temptations, God will always provide a way out so that we will not be overcome (1 Corinthians 10:13). We need to look for that way out, and praise God when we find it.

1 Peter 1:7 says He will use trials to test our faith and to make us stronger Christians; we will be given much honor if we can stand strong and not waver. “Yet faith comes from listening to this message of good news – the Good News about Christ” (Romans 10:17).

Below is a word for word testimony given by Eugene, quite a read and praise God indeed for the amazing work in Eugene's life. May you be bless as you read on:

"The entire thing began in a very unlikely manner and setting. It was during the cell chalet, that I started to quiet time. It was a great feeling, to be able to talk to the Lord every night and having that wonderous, seemingly invincible feeling after that, knowing that the Lord has spoken to you. But during the first night which I was going to do my quiet time, I was completely at a loss. This feeling of loss was paradoxical in sense; I did not know which chapter to read. It was like a starving man confronted by a buffet, not knowing which and where to start. I really wanted to do my quiet time but could not find a suitable chapter out of 66 chapters. Yikes.

However, like all things, I started to randomly pick and choose (or so I thought) chapters, seeing which was the most interesting. So far I only read Genesis vaguely and had no idea what the books of the bible wrote about and how the story progressed. Then, I came to the middle of the book and saw the verse that I had bookmarked for my very first quiet time (at the beach) of where Jesus Sends Out the Seventy-two and At the Home of Martha and Mary. There and then, I had this inexplicable feeling and impulse to settle on this very book, thus I started doing my Quiet Time on 29th December on the book of Luke. Precious little did I know what the Lord has in store for me.

In another weird turn of events, not like what ordinary people would do, I did not start from the beginning of the book. I started from where I left off, thinking that the stories that happened previously were completely unimportant to what was left to come. I remember reading 11: 9-13. “So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” This was literally my first “HUH?” moment in quiet time.

So I asked MingChun for the meaning of this verse at the night of the 2010 countdown. So I later found out that the meaning of this verse was to pray fervently and the Lord hears your prayer and will deliver. Furthermore, though we are inherently evil as we sin, we still show kindness and give to people, how much more would the Lord give to us if we were to ask Him sincerely as He is good. Once again, it was impossible to predict the incoming sequence of events that would secure my faith in the Lord.

2nd January, through a badly timed jump and a worse landing, I succeeded in spectacularly spraining my ankle. From what the doctor said, after sifting through all the weird terms, the sprain was serious, serious enough for the tendons connected to the ankle to pull out the supporting bone. So I was stuck, both physically and mentally. The physical aspect was obvious, I was confined to crutches and little shots of excruciating pain if I dared to test my feet against the floor. But the mental aspect was the worst. At that period, the West Zone badminton tournaments were nearing quickly, and the trials were staring me in the face. I had trained long and hard for 4 years, 4 whole years. Not making the team was a heavy stone in my heart that I had to carry, the price for my carelessness seemed too steep, I seem to have been severely overcharged. With nothing to help, I remembered Luke 11: 9-13. And thus I prayed. I prayed for healing, I prayed to make the team. But even though I prayed, my prayers at that time were not exactly very sincere. On a side note, I think that I am extremely lucky. I had tested God two times before. First, in a milestone of my life, PSLE, which was probably the second most miraculous thing He has done for me. And on the second occasion, I just wanted to test God to find a ring, for I could not find it anywhere so I challenged God to tell me where it was. He led me to the car and the ring was nestled safely on the car seat winking at me. However, I was arrogant. I thought that the ring was a coincidence and my PSLE scores were simply a product of hard work and luck. So I tried to test God again, and on hindsight, God really worked His miracles on me. Halfway through the period of 10 days where my ankle would be healed, I was doing quiet time, flipping to Luke and I came across Matthew 7:8, which was almost an exact copy of Luke 11: 9-13. I was rather amazed and after telling Ming Chun, I learnt that when a verse appears twice, it is God trying to tell you something. Suddenly, at the precise moment I had read the last word of the message, something within me really clicked. I knew there and then that the Lord was watching over me and with the most sincerity could summon, I really prayed for recovery of my ankle and me making the team. Furthermore, I realised that Luke was almost all about healing, and once again after checking with Ming Chun, it was no coincidence that I had read Luke out of all the 66 books of the Bible. After that, the rock in my heart was just lifted like that. The burden and constant worry that I would be kicked out of the team and the worry that my ankle would need the tested 2 months to recover completely vanished, as if the Lord had lifted off the rock from my aching shoulders. During that night, the Lord has really shown His glory to me and my faith in Him became impregnable.

12th January, a message from my coach telling me I had made the team. Head over heels would be appropriate to describe me then. The glory of God really shone through and touched me personally. However, I was not happy that I had made the team for it was dwarfed by the knowledge that God really listens to me and has made a near impossibility into a reality, this was what I was really happy about. 14th January, I had my cast removed. 16th January, I was back in the court without a hint of pain. What the bone specialists said would take 2 months to recover took less than 2 weeks. The sheer elation of the confirmation that God is really there, listens and aids our problems that I felt can’t and can never be replicated in mere words. My faith was set and I was on my feet ( :D ) to walk with God.

Faith is amazing, and God is amazing(er) ^^ "

What Is This?

A FCBC corporate call to prayer for our church to see breakthroughs, multiplication and souls winning for TGIF.
40 Days of 24 hrs round the clock “house of prayer” anchored by different pastors. This house of prayer goes on during services, G12 conference etc.
“House of Prayer” is at TC Chapel every day. However, for Sundays (6am to 6pm only) and G12 Conference, it will be at Expo “Play Room” in Hall 7 and Hall 9 from 7 March onwards.
Starts on 20 Feb 2010 and ends on 1 Apr 2010.

How will YouthNet Do It?

For this 40 Days of Prayer & Fasting, YouthNet is re-org into 7 prayer clusters. Pastor Debra and Ps Zhou Qi will be taking one of the cluster.
Every week there will be “prime slots” from 6pm to 12mn where the above clusters will take turns to anchor and their leaders and members are encouraged to be there (otherwise our poor pastors will be there alone...boohoo...)
All YouthNet cell leaders and their members will be challenged to pray in other 2 hours slots spread throughout the week – 12mn to 6am, 6am to 12nn, 12nn to 6pm (i.e. more “challenging” slots in terms of timings).
Refer to schedule below, for our prayer slots.

Last Sunday, SP has preached on the 40 day prayer & fasting (praying for FCBC & TGIF, prayer prompters will be out later). After coming back from Bogota, he catches on something and he wants to get the church into. Like "Living Life" (the devotion book that we are recommended to read), it kind of puts us all on track in our walk with the Lord in QT (Quiet Time). So now, it’s prayer that we need to get back on track. And in the year of multiplication, i guess ‘no intimacy, no fruit’. So, it must be a necessary journey for us in our walk with the Lord.

Now, unlike the past 24 hr prayer chains (if you have participated before), this 24 hr prayer is done ON-SITE @TC CHAPEL for all slots (except the SUN service slots, it’s done in EXPO 6am to 6pm). (Haha, we will keep each other awake rather than the personal prayer!!!) Let’s take it as an offering of time to the Lord and as busy Singaporeans, this is good for our souls.

Last Sunday, during the Youthnet Congre Meeting, Pastor Eugene talked about "The Victory Before The Battle". Just to recap, the two points are:

CIRCUMCISION - Establish Your Faithfulness
CELEBRATION - Empower Your Faith

Exodus 17:11a says this, "As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning."

As a Body of Christ (not just as a cell group), as FCBCian, we need to stand together, to answer the corporate call of this church. We should:

See a Picture Of Victory - (through) PERSISTENT PRAYER
Stand in a Posture of Victory - (stay as a )COMMITTED COMMUNITY
Stay at a Place of Victory - FIGHT!

2 Chronicles 7:14 says this,

"if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

Last but not least, I want to share with you this song... "What If His People Prayed?" by Casting Crowns. I hope that the lyrics will more or less inspire you to pray, and pray more.. I've included the lyrics below, for your reference.

I am so excited for entering a season of 40days of prayer and fasting. There are so much breakthroughs I want to allow God to spiritually empower me.

Matthew 5:3

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

I have always wondered – what does being poor in spirit to inherit the kingdom means. Does it mean that one have to go through poverty to inherit the kingdom of heaven, or does those in poverty naturally inherit the kingdom of heaven? But truely, it meant neither of these. Many great man of God in the old testament would be easily be considered as millionaire/billionaire in modern day.

To name a few:

King David – He kingdom was the golden age of Isreal
King Solomon – he palace rival none in this time
Abraham – He has more sheeps than anyone in his time
Jacob – He was no2 in egypt
Job – He had more wives, sheeps than anyone of his time
Noah – He owns a ship that could fill up all the animals at that time.

Surely these great man of God inherit the kingdom of heaven and surely these great man of God are more than what we define as rich. What then does being poor in spirit means then?

I found my answers in Matthew 16:24-25

24Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. 25For whoever wants to save his life[a] will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it.

Jesus said that we must deny ourselves, take up his cross and lose our life to find the kingdom of heaven! The key to the kingdom of heaven is to deny ourselves (that we have nothing in possession) through taking up of his cross daily. When Jesus said to be “poor”, he really meant that we need to be poor, much like the beggars found in the streets where they have literally nothing. But He said too that we must be poor in the spirit. Now this is the crux of the issue – to be poor in the spirit. It really means to deny ourselves pretty much like the song which sings “all that i am, all that i have, i lay it all down before you”. Yes, Job was rich but he had nothing that he could say : what the lord gives, the lord takes away. Abraham had everything when God gave Issac to him, yet he had nothing when he attempted to killed his son. It is not the only the physical possession that matters when it comes to God, God wants all our ties, relationship too. When we have denied ourselves of all these much like the beggars in the street that has nothing (physical/emotional possession), it is then we will find the eternal. Im not trying to say that we should go become beggars and cut all our ties, but rather giving all that we have to God and letting him use it. For whoever wants to save his life[a] will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it

Title: Amazing Prayer Answered @ Workplace - Count The Grass Patches!
Date: Tue, 12 Jan 2010
Dear fellow Prayer buddies @ Suntec,
Just want to share a recent personal testimony @ work.
Expansion
As you all know, my brothers and I have been operating a pushcart here at Suntec. We also have a small serviced office at tower 2 as part of the operations. Recently, we decided that its time to expand our biz after more than 3 years in Suntec. We realised that part of this expansion process is to first look for a bigger office to put in more equipment and products.
The Lord is good and we have one ex-office neighbour who is now renting a office at Tower 1 and recommended that we take a look at some of the other empty office rooms from his landlord.
This office is actually at Tower 1’s 4th level and the room's window overlook the sky garden directly. The interesting part here is on the rental fees. The landlord quoted $2400 initially,and we feel that it’s a little costly. We like the office’s space and its location(walk shorter distance to our push-cart).
So I decided to seek the Lord about it. Interestingly, the Lord led me to the sky garden where we used to have our prayer meetings to pray.
As I stand prayin, the Lord blessed me with a scene of a sparrows eating away at the grass patch at the sky garden. There and then, I was reminded from Matthew 6 :26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?
God was telling me not to worry, for He is Jehovah Jireh.
On Holy Ground
I was probably standing on holy ground, when the Lord suddenly prompted me to count the number of grass patches at the sky garden. If you recall, the grass patches at sky garden are segregated rectangularly. So I went counting…
At the right end of the small waterpool was 17 count of green patches, while the left end was another 3! So I asked the Lord whether its going to be $1700 or a total of $2000, as I am convicted that each patch of grass must be $100 each : )
As I couldn’t quite decide which amount, I kinda went away claiming that the rental will be $1700, but will still be glad if its $2000. But I know I have the peace of the Lord that He’s going to make the deal happen in that region.
Praise God --> 17+3=20?

Amazingly, after some negotiation, I finally got to take a look at the details of the contract breakdown as below:

Rental of office: $1700Servicing, maintainance, furniture(very well furnished) and others miscellaneous:$300
It adds up to a total of $2000 , in the exact formula of 17 patches plus 3 green patches! I literally went wide eyes and enjoyed a PRAISE THE LORD moment!

It must be one of the weirdest way of deciding how much to pray for the rental. Counting grass patches! But Praise God for confirming it in such a way that I know that this office is a blessing from God and He is with me in this . Just want to encourage you all that God is great and He will provide for all your needs so long we dare to ask and seek Him in our marketplace.

May you encounter God in a deep deep way this year too : )

The Proof Is In the Waiting

Everybody likes the end results of a miracle, but no one likes the waiting process. Yet it is in the waiting that He actually proves He is God in response to your absolute dependency on Him. Waiting puts you in the position to know that Satan cannot rob you, and that it is impossible for God to be "late" (The God Catchers, p. 86).

David clearly understood the concept of waiting on God. He didn't offer us theory, conjecture, or imagination when he wrote about waiting in the Psalms. He had impeccable credentials as a waiter. The prophet Samuel anointed David as Israel's new king when he was still a youth, but David didn't assume the throne until he was thirty years old. In fact, he spent most of those years waiting on God while running for his life from King Saul. He waited, worshiped, cried out, and praised God in caves, in the cities of his enemies, and in the wilderness. Later, King David even waited on God when his own son rebelled, assumed the throne, and led an army campaign to murder him. The proof of God's presence in David's life was in the waiting, and in the results produced by his waiting on Deity.

Which part of David's life do you prefer: the promise part, the waiting part, or the ruling part?

Which part of your life do you prefer? Which is the most important?

The only way we can "entertain" God's presence is by waiting on Him. If we want His presence to invade our individual lives, we must learn to wait on Him individually. If we long to see His presence invade our churches or our city, then we must learn to wait on Him and serve Him in corporate unity. Remember that you must deal with first things first: Become a good waiter privately before you can effectively play a role corporately.

How are your personal "waiting skills"?

Do you know how to make God feel at home in your home?

In most cases, we could maintain life and church as usual even if God "never showed up." That means we have little or no true dependency upon Him. He proves He is God as we wait upon Him in absolute dependency. Any way you look at it, we must restructure our lives and worship to restore true dependence on Deity and less dependence on humanity.

What Do You Think?
What will happen if we ever learn how to entertain His presence by waiting on Him?
Is there any way to measure the potential of the supernatural power of God released in His people?
If a city is to receive divine visitation, someone must learn how to host the Holy Spirit! (The God Catchers, p. 84)

Father, I've been living far to independently lately. I renounce every independence in my life, and I announce my total and complete dependence upon You. I am completely and permanently in need of Your presence moment by moment. Apart from You I can do nothing but fail and fall. BBQ and Chalet

Hi guys and gals,

We are organising a chalet this coming week for a time of bonding, getting to know each other, grow deeper in the Word of God, and also to have a platform to invite pre-believing friends to come have a fun time of fellowshipping with us.

Here are the details of our Chalet and BBQ.

Location : COSTA SANDS PASIR RIS (not the NTUC one, but it's very near to the NTUC chalet, about 5 mins walk)

Chalet No.: L02 (near swimming pool)

For those of you whose friends are not able to come, pls try to attend the chalet too, cos this is really a good time of fellowship and getting to know each other better, especially we just combined for congre meeting. Besides, we really need you to be there to reach out to the pre-believers that are there.

This chalet is really a good platform to reach out and evangelise to those pre-believers that we're inviting. We really hope that all of you will be there to catch the harvest, and we want to claim that these lives will be saved.

Last but not least, we really appreciate each and everyone of you. We thank God for all of you, that you're so willing to serve Him.

Testimony of God's Healing - Andrew Neoh Eng Ann (15 November 2009)
I would like to testify to God’s grace and goodness. I am born partially blind, with a degenerative eye disease called nyctalopia. This cannot be corrected through spectacles and I have been suffering with a progressive impairment of my vision over the past 50 years. I could hardly see and felt my way around through the sheer alertness of my senses. 3 of my siblings have the same eye problem.

Ever since I accepted the Lord Jesus Christ in March 2006, I have been earnestly seeking God to heal my eyes. Despite going to big healing crusades, I remained quite blind. But I continued to wait on the Lord, believing that Jehovah Rapha, God my healer, will restore my eyesight in His good timing.

Due to my near blindness, I could not find a proper job. In fact, I was jobless for 2 years and I have been working as reflexologist, earning a very irregular income. Life was difficult. I felt discouraged and lost but continued to earnestly seek God for direction.

On 1st November 2009, I was attending the English service with my youngest sister when the Holy Spirit prompted her G12 leader to invite me to their cell. I thought about it and decided to visit the cell that very Friday. I had a good time interacting with my new friends through the 4Ws.

Towards the end of the cell meeting, I was being prayed for…but little did I expect what God had in store for me. Led by the Holy Spirit, the G12 leader said that they are going to intercede for the healing of my eyes. Ordinary cell members were called out to pray for me.

After the 1st round of prayers, I was still as blind as before. The cell waited on God for words of knowledge, and God revealed that a curse was in operation and there were scales placed before my eyes. After the 2nd round of prayers, I began to see although the shapes were fuzzy. The cell persevered in their prayers and faith. Finally, after the 3rd round, my vision began to improve and I could see the lights in the living room and even the switch to the toilet, which I could not see before.

Two days later I was at the Sunday service, sitting with the cell group in sector B4 at row 9. Praise the Lord! I could see the huge screen and the pulpit. I could even see the person who was sitting 3 rows ahead, which was impossible just the Sunday before. My sister remarked my eyes are more alert and have 'life', compared to the glassy stares before. Yes, God has removed the scales.

My vision has improved, and very soon, I believe my vision will be fully restored. I am grateful to God who has healed me and bring back some colours to my once darkened world. I am also thankful to the cell who stood in the gap for me. This is a cell that perseveres in their faith and clearly desires to move in the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit.

Thank you, dear Lord, for answering my prayers. Yes, God is good all the time! All glory to God!

God Works In Mysterious Ways

Have you ever felt the urge to pray for someone and then just put it on a list and said, "I'll pray for them later?" Or has anyone ever called you and said, "I need you to pray for me, I have this need?"

Read the following story that was sent to me and may it change the way that you may think about prayer and also the way you pray. You will be blessed by this.

A missionary on furlough told this true story while visiting his home church in Michigan .

"While serving at a small field hospital in Africa , every two weeks I travelled by bicycle through the jungle to a nearby city for supplies. This was a journey of two days and required camping overnight at the halfway point. "

On one of these journeys, I arrived in the city where I planned to collect money from a bank, purchase medicine, and supplies, and then begin my two-day journey back to the field hospital.

Upon arrival in the city, I observed two men fighting, one of whom had been seriously injured. I treated him for his injuries and at the same time talked to
him about the Lord. I then travelled two days, camping overnight, and arrived home without incident...

Two weeks later I repeated my journey.
Upon arriving in the city, I was approached by the young man I had treated. He told me that he had known I carried money and medicines. He said, 'Some friends and I followed you into the jungle, knowing you would camp overnight. We planned to kill you and take your money and drugs. But just as we were about to move into your camp, we saw that you were surrounded by 26 armed guards.'

At this, I laughed and said that I was certainly all alone in that jungle campsite.

The young man pressed the point, however, and said, 'No, sir, I was not the only person to see the guards, my friends also saw them, and we all counted them. It was because of those guards that we were afraid and left you alone.'"

At this point, in the sermon, one of the men in the congregation jumped to his feet and interrupted the missionary and asked if he could tell him the exact day this happened.

The missionary told the congregation the date and the man who interrupted, told him this story: "On the night of your incident in Africa , it was morning here and I was preparing to go play golf. I was about to putt when I felt the urge to pray for you. In fact, the urging of the Lord was so strong; I called the men in this church to meet with me here in the sanctuary to pray for you."
He paused and said to the congregation, "Would all of those men who met with me on that day stand up?"

The men who had met together to pray that day stood up. The missionary wasn't concerned with who they were, he was too busy counting how many men he
saw.
There were 26!

This story is an incredible example of how the Spirit of the Lord moves in mysterious ways. If you ever hear such prodding, go along with it. Nothing is ever hurt by prayer except the gates of hell. If we all take it to heart, we can turn this world toward God once again. As the above true story clearly illustrates, "with God all things are possible". More importantly, how God hears and answers the prayers of the faithful. After you read this, please pass it on and give God thanks for the beautiful gift of your faith, for the powerful gift of prayer, and for the many miracles He works in your own daily life... and then pass it on.

Who says God does not work in mysterious ways?

I asked the Lord to bless you as I prayed for you today... To guide you and protect you as you go along your way. His love is always with you, His promises are true, and when we give Him our cares you know He will see us through. So when the road you're travelling on seems difficult at times, just remember I'm here praying, and God will do the rest.

Where were you, God?

I think some of us have probably received this email before but I thought, I'll just share with you, in case you havent seen before....

Sally was waiting outside the operating theatre. She jumped up as soon as she
saw the surgeon come out of the operating room. She said, 'How is my little boy?
Is he going to be all right? When can I see him?'

The surgeon said, 'I'm sorry. We did all we could, but your boy didn't make it.'

Sally said, 'Why do little children get cancer? Doesn't God care any more? Where were you, God, when my son needed you?'

The surgeon asked, 'Would you like some time alone with your son? One of the nurses will be out in a few minutes, before he's transported to the university..'

Sally asked the nurse to stay with her while she said good bye to son. She ran her fingers lovingly through his thick red curly hair. 'Would you like a lock of his hair?' the nurse asked. Sally nodded yes. The nurse cut a lock of the boy's hair, put it in a plastic bag and handed it to Sally.

The mother said, 'It was Jimmy's idea to donate his body to the University for Study. He said it might help somebody else. 'I said no at first, but Jimmy said, 'Mom, I won't be using it after I die. Maybe it will help some other little boy spend one more day with his Mom.' She went on, 'My Jimmy had a heart of gold. Always thinking of someone else. Always wanting to help others if he could.'

Sally walked out of Children's Mercy Hospital for the last time, after spending most of the last six months there. She put the bag with Jimmy's belongings on the seat beside her in the car.

The drive home was difficult. It was even harder to enter the empty house. She carried Jimmy's belongings, and the plastic bag with the lock of his hair to her son's room.

She started placing the model cars and other personal things back in his room exactly where he had always kept them. She lay down across his bed and, hugging his pillow, cried herself to sleep.

It was around midnight when Sally awoke. Lying beside her on the bed was a folded letter. The letter said :

'Dear Mom,

I know you're going to miss me; but don't think that I will ever forget you, or stop loving you, just 'cause I'm not around to say 'I Love You' . I will always love you, Mom, even more with each day.. Someday we will see each other again. Until then, if you want to adopt a little boy so you won't be so lonely, that's okay with me. He can have my room and old stuff to play with. But, if you decide to get a girl instead, she probably wouldn't like the same things us boys do. You'll have to buy her dolls and stuff girls like, you know.

Don't be sad thinking about me. This really is a neat place Grandma and Grandpa met me as soon as I got here and showed me around some, but it will take a long time to see everything. The angels are so cool I love to watch them fly. And, you know what? Jesus doesn't look like any of his pictures. Yet, when I saw Him, I knew it was
Him. Jesus himself took me to see GOD! And guess what, Mom? I got to sit on God's knee and talk to Him, like I was somebody important.. That's when I told Him that I wanted to write you a letter, to tell you good bye and everything. But I already knew that wasn't allowed. Well, you know what Mom? God handed me some paper and His own personal pen to write you this letter I think Gabriel is the name of the angel who is going to drop this letter off to you. God said for me to give you the answer to one of the questions you asked Him 'where was He when I needed him?' 'God said He was in the same place with me, as when His son Jesus was on the cross. He was right there, as He always is with all His children.

Oh, by the way, Mom, no one else can see what I've written except you. To everyone else this is just a blank piece of paper. Isn't that cool? I have to give God His pen back now He needs it to write some more names in the Book of Life. Tonight I get to sit at the table with Jesus for supper. I'm sure the food will be great.

Oh, I almost forgot to tell you. I don't hurt anymore, the cancer is all gone.. I'm glad because I couldn't stand that pain anymore and God couldn't stand to see me hurt so much, either. That's when He sent The Angel of Mercy to come get me. The Angel said I was a Special Delivery! How about that?

An Atheist Professor of Philosophy was speaking to his Class on the Problem
Science has with GOD, the ALMIGHTY. He asked one of his New Christian Students
to stand and...

Professor: You are a Christian, aren't you, son?
Student : Yes, sir.
Professor: So, you Believe in GOD?
Student : Absolutely, sir.
Professor: Is GOD Good?
Student : Sure.
Professor: Is GOD ALL - POWERFUL?
Student : Yes.
Professor: My Brother died of Cancer even though he Prayed to GOD to Heal him. Most of us would attempt to help others who are ill. But GOD didn't. How is this GOD good then? Hmm?

(Student was silent )

Professor: You can't answer, can you? Let's start again, Young Fella. Is GOD Good? Student : Yes.
Professor: Is Satan good?
Student : No.
Professor: Where does Satan come from?
Student : From... GOD...
Professor: That's right. Tell me son, is there evil in this World?
Student : Yes.
Professor: Evil is everywhere, isn't it ? And GOD did make everything. Correct?
Student : Yes.
Professor: So who created evil?

(Student did not answer)

Professor: Is there Sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All these terrible things exist in the World, don't they?
Student : Yes, sir.
Professor: So, who Created them?

(Student had no answer)

Professor: Science says you have 5 Senses you use to Identify and Observe the World around you. Tell me, son... Have you ever Seen GOD?
Student : No, sir.
Professor: Tell us if you have ever heard your GOD?
Student : No, sir.
Professor: Have you ever Felt your GOD, Tasted your GOD, Smelt your
GOD? Have you ever had any Sensory Perception of GOD for that matter?
Student : No, sir. I'm afraid I haven't.
Professor: Yet you still Believe in HIM?
Student : Yes.
Professor: According to Empirical, Testable, Demonstrable Protocol, Science says your GOD doesn't exist. What do you say to that, son?
Student : Nothing. I only have my FAITH.
Professor: Yes, Faith. And that is the Problem Science has.

Student : Professor, is there such a thing as Heat?
Professor: Yes.
Student : And is there such a thing as Cold?
Professor: Yes.
Student : No, sir. There isn't.

(The Lecture Theatre became very quiet with this turn of events )

Student : Sir, you can have Lots of Heat, even More Heat, Superheat, Mega Heat, White Heat, a Little Heat or No Heat. But we don't have anything called Cold. We can hit 458 Degrees below Zero which is No Heat, but we can't go any further after that. There is no such thing as Cold. Cold is only a Word we use to describe the Absence of Heat. We cannot Measure Cold. Heat is Energy. Cold is Not the Opposite of Heat, sir, just the Absence of it.

(There was Pin-Drop Silence in the Lecture Theatre )

Student : What about Darkness, Professor? Is there such a thing as Darkness?
Professor: Yes. What is Night if there isn't Darkness?
Student : You're wrong again, sir. Darkness is the Absence of Something. You can have Low Light, Normal Light, Bright Light, Flashing Light... But if you have No Light constantly, you have nothing and its called Darkness, isn't it? In reality, Darkness isn't. If it is, were you would be able to make Darkness Darker, wouldn't you?
Professor: So, what is the point you are making, Young Man?
Student : Sir, my point is your Philosophical Premise is flawed.
Professor: Flawed? Can you explain how?
Student : Sir, you are working on the Premise of Duality. You argue there is Life and then there is Death, a Good GOD and a Bad GOD. You are viewing the Concept of GOD as something finite, something we can measure. Sir, Science can't even explain a Thought. It uses Electricity and Magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully understood either one. To view Death as the Opposite of Life is to be ignorant of the fact that Death cannot exist as a Substantive Thing. Death is Not the Opposite of Life, just the Absence of it. Now tell me, Professor, do you teach your Students that they evolved from a Monkey?
Professor: If you are referring to the Natural Evolutionary Process, yes, of course, I do.
Student : Have you ever observed Evolution with your own eyes, sir?

(The Professor shook his head with a Smile, beginning to realize where the Argument was going )
Student : Since no one has ever observed the Process of Evolution at work and cannot even prove that this Process is an On-Going Endeavor, are you not teaching your Opinion, sir? Are you not a Scientist but a Preacher?

(The Class was in Uproar )

Student : Is there anyone in the class who has ever seen the Professor's Brain?

(The Class broke out into Laughter )

Student : Is there anyone here who has ever heard the Professor's Brain, Felt it, touched or Smelt it? . .. . No one appears to have done so. So, according to the Established Rules of Empirical, Stable, Demonstrable Protocol, Science says that You have No Brain, sir. With all due respect, sir, how do we then trust your Lectures, sir?

(The Room was Silent. The Professor stared at the Student, his face unfathomable)

Professor: I guess you'll have to take them on Faith, son.
Student : That is it sir... Exactly! The Link between Man & GOD is FAITH. That is all that Keeps Things Alive and Moving.

This Sunday No Cell Meeting

Hello girls,

I just came back from Teens Congre, Joyce and Pearl were there to support Huiwen and Vanessa. For those of you who did not turn up, for your info, Huiwen and Vanessa did very well. They took part in the Teens Dance Camp this tuesday to thursday, and it's only 3 days of practise, and they could dance so well. So proud of them. =) It's a pity that i didnt bring my camera. Couldnt take video for them. However, i managed to take some pictures.

Vanessa was the one who did Huiwen's make-up. Very well done, isn't it? =)

The person who took pictures for us in the auditorium didnt do a good job, so we had to retake in the washroom. Hehe..

Our FCBC Youthnet worship team is anchoring the first ever Youth Global Day Of Prayer in Singapore! It is on 31st May 2009 (sunday), 3pm for the Youths.

Churches like City Harvest Church (CHC), Covenant Evangelical Free Church (CEFC) & Victory Family Centre (VFC) will also be contributing to parts of the program and bringing their "troops" :-)

We NEED 50 teens to fill the Expo stage to serve as chorale (no complicating hand actions) and also as prayer warriors. IMAGINE THE SIGHT OF OUR TEENS IN FERVENT PRAYER!! God will surely be delighted, or rather pleased.

Only TWO REHEARSALS @ TCT on 28 May & 29 May (spare date).

TCS Flag Day

The organising committee for this year TCS Flag Day would like an estimated number to get the tins ahead of time by around 3rd week of May. I need to reply Pastor Debra by 19th May, so can you let me know whether you'll be available to do flag day?

Objective is fundraising for TCS & if most of us are going for the flag day, I think this can be the cell activity. So, no cell after service. We can go makan for those who wants.

"Perfect 10" and Camp

Last week, we discussed about Pastor Melvyn's sermon: "How To Bless An Angel". For Natalie and Pearl who didnt attend, your may want to refer to the following discussion points.

Pearl was sick last weekend, please pray for her and also pray for one another, especially during this Swine Flu period, please pray and ask God for His protection upon all of us.

Discussion Points

1. Self-Reflection:

a) How often do you come out volunteer on your own initiative to help the poor and needy people?
*Do you find yourself following the crowd? eg. School, church or friends organize it, so you participate.
or
* You do it on your own initiative, because it is right and necessary? eg. You see the need to help.

b) How calculative are you when considering how much to give to others?
*Do you find yourself giving good things to others? eg. Things that are new or of good condition.
or
* You only give away those things that you have in excess (extra)? eg. Things that you have no use, maybe not of good condition, or you don't like.

c) How often do you expect God to reward you (directly or indirectly) when you give to others?
*Do you believe God will never shortchange you for what you give?

2. Why do you think it is so hard for people to give to others willingly? Have you responded personally to bless others in this 100k campaign?

Hi family,

I want to challenge all of our network members to attend the G12 conference. The following are 12 compelling reasons why we must attend the G12 conference:

1. SP will be teaching new materials and it will not be the same as in the previous conferences. These materials include how body evangelism, servant evangelism and prayer evangelism is done in the cells. It will also include a step by step guide to multiplication of cells. This will bring life and hope to the cell members.

2. SP will also be teaching us how to link up G12 with the vision to bring transformation. Many of us are not sure how this works out and that is why you need to come and hear.

3. Pastors Cesar and Claudia will be here with their 3 daughters – Manuela, Lorena and Sarah and you will be able to hear them preach and you will be able to see a family in action in the vision. That is powerful understanding for the vision.

4. Pastors Cesar and Claudia will have new revelation from the Lord and the sermons will release life upon us and our members.

5. There will be a re-firing of the vision in the hearts of us and our members hearts again. Remember that without the anointing in the Spirit, there will not be any life.

6. I believe this is the kairos moment for FCBC to see breakthroughs. The economic crisis is both a danger as well as an opportunity. When God’s kairos moment comes, we must ride the wave or miss out on the blessings.

7. The nations are here – no less than 29 nations will be represented – and there is a global anointing to serve the nations and serve with the nations.

8. I believe that this is the watershed conference that will launch us forward. We have been building and building over the past 7 years and this has got to be the payback time. We are building impulsion for the past 7 years which will release us for the next 7 years.

9. Many other Singapore churches and senior pastors will be attending this conference for the very first time too. These include both the Love Spore church leaders as well as other church leaders. We believe that the G12 vision will be formed in Spore for the first time.

10. This will be a great time for team building with your members over an intensive 3 days. What an opportunity!

11. For the first time, we have a world renowned worship team in the “Delirious?” I would rate them higher than all the other world-wide worship teams because they have a great heart of worship and understand discipling. Their music is not shallow but deep in the spirit. That was why they have been invited by Pastor Cesar to Bogota to minister to the International G12 Conference last year.

12. Let’s all support our spiritual father and mother in their first ever G12 conference after the Year of Sabbath! Let’s show them that we care!

Hi Gals,

Blessed New Year to all of you! School Term's starting tmr and I hope u're ready for it. I've updated our title photo, hurray!! Lol..

This year, our church's theme is "Love Your Neighbour". This sunday, please wear the new red youthnet shirt. We'll meet at 8.30am, for those of you coming on your own, come early, cos it's the first week, really have no idea yet, where we'll sit. Let's reserve seats together, ok? After service, we'll have our cell group. We also have to rush out and find place for our cell meeting. Lol.. must find a place easy for u all to get food too. Haha.. I'll try to finish before 2pm, so u can go home and rest/study.

P.S: Do remember, we're supposed to read the book of Mark, 1 chapter a day, starting from today. Try to do your devotion before the 1st meal of your day, alright?

Reflections on Matthew and Friend Parties

Dear all,

I just finished the harvest event. 20 of my pupils came, and they watched the video of Neville Tan, which some of you have not watch. I want to thank Joanne, Joyce and Vanessa for coming over to help out. I want to thank Joyce especially, for sharing her testimony. It's not easy.. =)

There are 2 things that I want to share with you..

1)The Workers Are Few

Matthew 9:35-38

Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field."

Things to Ponder 1:
This harvest event is not something that I just just told you last minute. It's something that I've been saying for months.. But yet, when the harvest is here, the labourers are few. Where then are the workers?

2)Jesus Sends Out the Seventytwo

Luke 10:1-9

After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go. He told them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves. Do not take a purse or bag or sandals; and do not greet anyone on the road.

"When you enter a house, first say, 'Peace to this house.' If a man of peace is there, your peace will rest on him; if not, it will return to you. Stay in that house, eating and drinking whatever they give you, for the worker deserves his wages. Do not move around from house to house.

"When you enter a town and are welcomed, eat what is set before you. Heal the sick who are there and tell them, 'The kingdom of God is near you.'

Things to Ponder 2:

The scripture says Jesus appointed 72 people and sent them out 2 by 2. The disciples are to go and bless the people, fellowship with them, meet their felt needs and evangelise to them. It doesnt mean that when they are sent out, they wait there for the people to come and receive Christ. We have to go to the harvest (in this case, it means the people who came for the event), and we have to spend time with them, eat and drink with them, and not sit at a corner and wait for them to come to us. We have to take the initiative. When you are with the people, you have to go down to their level and mix with them(regardless of their age or interests or gender). We should not be waiting for them to come and mix with us...

Jesus said to the 72 "Do not take a purse or bag or sandals; and do not greet anyone on the road", meaning you are to focus on your harvest (the people) and not on your handphones, mirrors, your games, etc. If your focus is not on the harvest, it'll be as if your presence is not there. What's a body without a soul? Remember, people will know you love God and that God loves them, if you really love them. I pray that one day, you'll love the lost like the Lord loves them.

I'm not here to rebuke you, but to share with you the things that God showed to me. So, dont feel accuse or hurt, alright? I shared with you, so that next time we will all be ready for the harvest and do better in our next outreach. If there's any area that you did not do well, it's cos I have not taught you well. I hope that you catch my heart.. Most importantly, the heart of Jesus.

This time round, you may not be ready to catch the harvest, i pray that the next time harvest comes round again, you'll be ready to catch the harvest.

I pray that God will speak to you. God bless you. =) Rest well, I'll see you tomorrow.

Huiwen's Testimony

I came from a broken family. My parents divorced when I was only 6 years old. When I knew that they were divorced, I felt nothing, I had no reaction. It’s maybe because my father did not leave a deep impression in me. Sometimes when I see a happy family, I would wish that I could have a whole family. But now I do not think that way, I learnt that although I’ve lost my father, I can still have a happy family. God is my heavenly father. He loved me more than my earthly father.

I have an elder sister; she is older than me by 5 years. Since young, my relationship with her was not good. We always quarrel and we even fight sometimes, but I always end up losing and I would lock myself in the room and cry. I don’t know how or why, but I could cry up to 1 hour. I was always crying and the reason would always be because of my sister. I felt like dying, I kept asking God why I was born. I even thought of jumping out of the window. As my sister is always bullying me, I hate her to the core. I felt like killing her. I remember one time, when I was in the kitchen, I saw a knife. I really felt like stabbing my sister with the knife and then stab myself to death. Of cause, I did not do it. When I cooled down, I felt foolish to have that thought. If I really did it, I would be giving in to my anger. My mother would be very sad, and I would have lost my sister and my freedom forever.

After being bullied by my sister for so many years, I actually got used to it. In fact, I actually thank God that I have this kind of sister. Because of her, I learnt to be strong. The problems I encountered, I could actually handle it. From her, I learnt how to face people outside, especially those who are hot-tempered and difficult to love. God showed me that my sister too, may have faced problems outside and could not take it, so she took it out on me. I learnt to see from her point of view, trying to understand her more. I stopped asking God why I have this kind of sister. I figured out that God always have a reason for putting you in the situation you are in. Rather than asking God to change her, I asked God to change my heart, help me to love her.

What I really want thank God for is my studies. All along, my English has not been good. In secondary school, I always get border line passes. I really want thank God for my end-of–year exam results this year. I did not finish my English composition in time. I only wrote 3 paragraphs, and the worst thing was that I wrote the wrong question number. But yet, for the overall results, I passed marginally, although I expected myself to fail my English. For my history paper, the weightage for the paper was 50 marks. I didn’t do the last two questions which carry about 13 marks, as I did not have enough time. For some of the questions I anyhow do, because I did not study the chapters that came out. However, when I got back my history paper, I got the shock of my life. I passed! I was short of 1 mark to get an A2. When my teacher realized that I needed 1 more mark to get an A2, he gave me that 1 mark, because I was always attentive in his class. I was expecting myself to fail Literature because I was not good in it. I even got F9 for term 1 & 2 but I passed with a C5 in the end. I thought that I would fail my geography but I managed to pass even though I did not managed to finish it. I prayed that I will be able to get into top 10 positions in class, but I never think that I would really get it. But, not only did I got into top 10 position in class, I also got into the best class next year.

God has blessed me with good results and I’m very thankful to him for making all things possible for me. Without him I could do nothing. Whatever I have was given by him.

I thank God for what he has done in my life, and I pray that God will bless you too!

Joyce's Testimony

我是在一个争吵的环境下长大的，我爸总是早出晚归，甚至不回家。父母的不和，让妈妈的心情很低落，而哥和我也就成了被发泄的对象。当时我就会觉得妈妈很爱发脾气。多年的离婚话题，他们终于分开了。我知道，也很明白，妈妈受不了了。那个时候的我，大概十岁左右吧！爸爸对我而言就只是个陌生人，他们的分开对我而言根本没什么。我没感觉不难过，只是会怀念。

来到新加坡之后，我经历了很多。在这个陌生又压力的环境下，我觉得很孤单无助，还很痛苦。想家，想家人，第一次想他——我爸。有时，真的太难受，也会想自杀，不过认识了神以后，我变了。我变得坚强，还有独立和相信。我知道神做什么都一定有道理，所以我学会去接受和感谢祂。因为祂让我懂得去体谅我妈妈，了解她当时照顾我们时的心情。祂让我懂得珍惜自己所拥有的。

神，祂帮助我成长了许多......希望你也会和我一样，有机会认识他。愿主祝福你。

English Translation:
I grow up under a quarrelsome environment. My father always leaves home early and returns home late, sometimes he doesn’t even go home. The disagreements with my father, made my mother felt very low. My elder brother and I often become the object of my mother’s anger and frustrations. At that time, I thought that my mother has a very bad temper. After many years of divorce topics, they finally separated. I knew clearly that mother couldn’t bear it anymore. That time I was probably about ten years old. As far as I’m concerned, my daddy is only a stranger. Their separation doesn’t concern me at all. I don’t feel sad, I just miss those days.

After coming to Singapore, I went through a lot. Under this strange and pressurizing environment, I felt very lonely and helpless, very painful. I miss my homeland, miss my family, and for the first time, I miss him -- my father. Sometimes, I felt so terrible that I wanted to commit suicide. But, after knowing God, my life changed. I became strong, I became independent and I also learnt to have faith. I knew that whatever things God allowed to happen, there’s always a reason. Therefore I learnt to accept it and I give thanks. God helped me to forgive my mother, and I understood how she really felt that time when she was taking care of us. God made me treasure what I have.

God helped me to grow a lot. Dear Friends, I pray that you will also have the opportunity to know him. May God bless you.

Almost forgot to tell you. Next week's Matthew and Friends Party at Abrie's house (Tampines) is confirmed. It'll be on 28th Dec, 12noon-3.30pm. I've invited my ex-pupils. Praise God, I received an sms from one of them telling me that she's coming. =) Continue to pray for me and my pupils alright?

Pray that they will get the message, I wasnt able to contact them, but i've posted on my class blog. Pray that they will be able to see it and they can make it for the event. Pray for me also that I will not get into any trouble with the authorities or the parents.

P.S: I invited Huiwen and Joanne to my house this afternoon to do scrapbooking. Couldnt get all of you to come altogether, cos my house is not that big. Everyone take turn to come ok? Lol..

Vanessa’s Testimony

I was a Buddhist and I always go to temple before I believed in Christ.

When I was in Primary One, I attended a family kids camp held at a hotel. During the camp, someone shared the gospel with me. They told me that God sent Jesus to die for me, so that I can have eternal life and I was touched. I started to worship God.

After I received Christ, my life was changed. I became a happier person and life became more comfortable for my family too. Now I’m attending cell group and service at Faith Community Baptist Church.

Natalie’s Testimony

My parents are Christians, so I was born as a Christian. But I wasn't a very strong believer then, I just followed them to church and sang songs. However, my life was full of friendship problems. I don’t really know who to talk to about them, because I was scared that if I do something about it, I would end up hurting my friends even more. I was living in a world of fear.

I really accepted Christ into my life when I was in Primary 6. It was a turning point of my life. This was how it happened. When I received my PSLE results, I realized I didn’t make it to the cut-off point of the school that I wanted to go to. My mom, upon seeing how devastated I was, told me that this was what God had planned for me and she held my hand and prayed for me. I said to myself that I would work hard in the school that God sent me to and I prayed that he would guide me through the next 4 years of my education in a totally new environment. I thank Him for having such a supportive mother who led me to know more about Him.

After I received Jesus Christ into my life, my life was never the same again. He changed my character and taught me how to live. Being in a new environment helped me to be more trustworthy and tolerant. Whenever I have any doubt, I will pray to God and ask Him to help me with my struggles. He is always there to listen and to guides me. I always knew who to talk to and who to depend on whenever I’m in dire need of help. I trust God to be there for me whenever I need help and I know that He is always looking out for me. I thank God for His love for me.

Joanne’s Testimony

Though I was born a Christian, I only got to know more about GOD when I was older. God has done quite a number of things in my life and with him around there’s nothing I need to worry about. He has given me a great family, friends and rather good results for my Final Year Examinations, which was rather surprising to me because I didn’t expect to pass some of the subjects. God has proven to me that He can make miracles happen and the things which I thought will never happened actually happened when I started to believe Him. He loves everyone and doesn’t choose who to love like we do sometimes. He treats everyone equally, and I really thank God that He loved me enough to send Jesus to die for me so that I can have eternal life.

Gloria’s Testimony

I accepted Christ into my life when I was about 7 years old, so I vaguely remember why or what happened. That time I was attending Timothy Club, the Sunday School for children in my church. When I was at home one day, I approached my parents and tell them I wanted to have Jesus in my life. They led me to say the sinners’ prayer and that was how I received Christ into my life.

Whenever I am afraid, I will pray to God and ask him to give me the faith to believe that He is with me. When I first got my Bible, there is a scripture verse that God spoke to me. He said, "Do not be afraid, for I am with you". Therefore, whenever I feel down, I will talk to God. This really helps a lot because always feel much better after talking to God and letting out all those bottled feelings. So I would like to encourage you, no matter how upset you are feeling, whatever you want to say, God will lend you a listening ear.

During my examinations, I always pray that God will be with me and give me a calm and clear mind. He spoke to me through Luke 17:6, "If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, 'be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,' and it will obey you."

Dear friends, trust him at all times. God bless you.

How To Share A 1 Minute Personal Testimony?

Hello Girls,

If you do not know how to write your personal testimony, these prompters might help. Try and answer the questions, probably it'll get you somewhere. There are 3 parts that you need to share.

1) BEFORE I TRUSTED CHRIST - What was your life like before you trusted Christ?

2) HOW I TURSTED CHRIST - Where did this happen? What was the occasion? Who shared the gospel with you? What need(s) prompted you to receive Christ? What did you do and say?

3) AFTER I TRUSTED CHRIST – How has Christ changed your life?

The Christmas party will be held at Pearl's house on this Saturday (13th Dec) at 2pm, and Sunday (14th Dec) after service (at about 5.30pm).

For the sat party, Huiwen will be the one leading ice-breakers and Natalie will be helping me with hosting, as in saying the welcome speech etc. If any of them need help, please help them k? =) Thank you for serving.. The sunday party, jiejie Abrie's girls will help out.

I'll probably ask for catering or fastfood that day, so less hassle. Will be collecting $5 for food from all of you. The rest of the amount for the food will be paid by me and jiejie Abrie.

All of you are supposed to email me your testimony, please do so by Friday morning, alright? Don't worry too much about the language, no one will fault you for grammar or tenses mistake... hehe.. so far, only Natalie has emailed me.. hmm...

Let's pray together that the people whom we invite will be touched by God and will be saved. Pray that everything will be smooth, and that God's Presence will be there. Pray that God's will be done.

Leaders' Retreat

Hello Girls,

Guess what, i just came back from Pastor Debra's Leaders Retreat. The retreat started after service on sunday, and ended this morning at about 11am. It's a very fun and relaxed camp. Pastor also talked about Good Neighbour's Day and some other stuff. I'll share with all of u more when we meet. =)

P.S: This coming sunday's cell group replaced by cell outing on sat, meet at East Coast Park MacDonald's at 3.30pm. For those who do not know the way, i'll meet you at Parkway Mac at 3pm. We'll be having Picnic and games. Come and have some fun fellowshipping with one another k.

By the way, pls pray for Pearl, she's away for holiday now. Pray that God will bless her with a good time with her family, and pray for a safe journey.

Solitude of Thought

Hi Gals,

Hope everything's fine for you this week. Just wanna share with you today one of the ways to spend extended times with God (Solitude).

1) Calm your mind, relax your body, and move in faith to receive what Jesus would reveal to you.

2) Read the scripture slowly and gently, until you come to a word or phrase that made an impression on your mind or an impact on your heart.

3) Reflect on that thought and invite it to be a guest in your heart.

The above is just one of the ways I learnt. If you're someone who loves to write, journaling can be a method too. Your journal can become a place for you to write out your thoughts, to think out your life, and to see how your decisions become wiser.

Catherine Calvert, a proponent of solitude, says that "in solitude we hear our footsteps walking into the future"

Solitude can be God's gift to you and help you hear what the Holy Spirit wants to speak to your heart. Do remember to spend time with God ok?

Last Sunday's Announcement

Hi Girls,

For last week's cell group, we discussed about our relatioship with God and our spiritual family (cell group). I asked those of you who were present, whether you have been reaching out to the unbelievers in your circle of contact. Someone asked me how do you share the gospel. I taught Luke 10 before, how Jesus sent out his 72 disciples.

4 simple steps:
1) Bless (Luke 10:5 - Find your man of peace)
2) Fellowship (Luke 10:7 - Spend time with your pre-believing friend)
3) Meet the Felt Needs (Luke 10:9a - Be sensitive to the Holy Spirit's prompting)
4) Evangelism (Luke 10:9b - Share the gospel)

Have you been reaching out to the unbelievers? Your task this week: think of 3 friends that you can reach out to and find out their needs? We'll share more during this Sunday's cell group meeting.

Please remember to bring $5 this coming Sunday (24th Aug):
- $2 for the packed lunch on 31st Aug (we're all going for Ps Debra's Congre at Touch Centre, Marine Parade;
- $3 for the devotional book (Divine Moments) which we'll be doing during cell group.

Youthnet Family Tree Survey

Hi Girls,

Hearing Pastor Khong share his heart with us these last two Sundays, and in line with some of the reviews and planning that our church is going through, the Youthnet pastors would be conducting a simple Youthnet Family Tree survey to get a feel of where the composition of Youthnet members are at our Sunday Celebration services.

Therefore on the 17th and 24th Aug 2008, there will be a data collection exercise for Youthnet members only at all 3 services. The process is a simple scanning exercise. There will be counters set up right next to the entrance of Hall 10 to make it convenient for us to scan our I.Cs or EZ link card. We can do it either before or after each service. These counters will be available throughout the day. When you scan your EZ link card, please inform the person which service you are attending (all of us should be going for youth service, unless.. heehee).

P.S.: Please remember to bring your EZ link card. =p

Why in the World do we Study?

Hi Girls,

Last sunday, I gave out a set of notes to those who are present for cell. The notes are adapted from Pastor Benny Ho’s course materials -- “Why in the World Do We Work”, which he conducted for our youthnet working adults on 26Jul2008. I've made slight changes and only adapted those that are applicable for all of you. It's impossible to include all the notes here, cos i have no way of putting in diagram, unless through scanning and uploading by pic. But, I guess it's no issue. For those who were not around, just get a copy from me the next time you see me.

Hi Girls,

We've finally completed the first round of our hospitality duty. Thank you for serving, be it one week or two weeks you've served, the Lord takes delight. I'm very glad that all of you are looking forward to take up hospitality duty again. From the feedback u've provided, many of you are happy to have the chance to do hospitality, and all of you brought back something from this experience. I would like to just summarise a few points, for you to ponder.

1) One of you shared that u feel the joy as u usher the people into service. Indeed, these people are the children of God and also people who have yet to know the Lord. As we usher them into the service, we're ushering them into the Kingdom of God. Mean it from your heart when you say "Welcome and God bless you". Claim the promise that the pre-believers will truly enter the Kingdom of God. Too many a times, we say "God bless you" like a cliche. But as we say, let it come from the heart, let it be a prophetic act and claim it.

2) Someone shared that through this experience u realise that there are all kinds of people, not everyone is nice. Very true. We are told to love everyone, remember? In the Bible, it's stated that we need to love those people even if they are unlovable, like the tax collector. What rewards do we have if we only love those who are lovable. Rather than pray that God will change the hearts of these people, pray that God will change your heart, and teach you to love them. There are many people out there who are yet to be transformed, cos they do not know the Lord Jesus. In order for the transformation to take place, we need to first experience this personal revival in our hearts, tell the Lord to teach you how to Love Him, and then eventually, I'm certain u'll love these people, cos they are God's people.

For those who are not able to serve this time round, it's alright, there'll always be next time.

I've shared yesterday during cell group, that we can serve God in many ways. Serving need not be in the form of ushering, worship, or leading a group. Serving can be very simple things such as giving to the poor and needy, caring for the people around us, writing cards/letters to encourage the disheartened people. I hope that you're still continuing your prayer fast. Pray hard and do not be dishearten when you felt God hasnt answer your prayer. Trust that everything is in His hand and He will make all things beautiful in His time.

Last but not least, I want to share with you Matthew 25:31-40. Please read it and ask the Lord to speak to you. I pray that God will give you a tender heart so that you may feel for His people and love them just as God did.

This sunday, Auntie Chew Peng will be coming to our cell meeting. She needs to make an important announcement. Please meet at our usual cell meeting place. For those who are having lunch with me, please meet at 11.30am. For those who are not, please meet at 11.50am. You can still join me at 11.30am even if you're not eating lunch. =)

I was pondering over the book of John, chapter 21.. the disciples were fishing the whole night but they caught nothing. When Jesus (who died and resurrected) appeared before them, they couldnt tell it's Him. Jesus asked them if they've got any fish. They said no, and Jesus told them, "Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some." When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

If the Lord wills it, who can stop? When the Lord wants to give us the blessings, we need to be ready to catch it.. I'm praying that my faith will increase in level. There's nothing wrong in asking BIG! Our God is not a small God. Dont limit what He can do. Let Him maximise us.

The Bible says.. "if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." (Matthew 17:20)

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. ~ Romans 8:28

I truly believe..

And girls, in Jeremiah 1:7-8, the Lord says.. "Do not say, 'I am only a child.' You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you."

Let's work hand in hand to reach out to the "lost".

I pray that God will:

1) Open your spiritual eyes so that you see the "lost".
2) Give you a heart of compassion for the poor and the needy.
3) Give you a big heart, so that you can give like Jesus gave.
4) Make you more like Jesus..

Huiwen's Bday

Just a simple collage of what we took on Huiwen's Bday celebration yesterday. Natalie's bday actually falls on the same day as Huiwen (19th Jun), however, she's unable to make it, as well as Joanne who fell sick. May God's healing hands be upon Joanne and help her to recover.

May the good Lord multiply our group by the end of this year. I'm looking forward to the increase in numbers. Let us be diligent in reading the Word of God and also in bringing the good news to "lost". Let us move out of our comfort zone and not just be comfortable among ourselves. Pray that the Lord will make you ready to catch the "fishes". Remember the "The Great Commission"..

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." ~ Matthew 28:19-20

Cell Outing

Hmm.. it's sad that most of you cant make it for the Jurong East Swimming Complex. Would really love to bring all of you there one day. Decided to change it to movie in the afternoon, cos easier for everyone.

Thank God that Joanne and Vanessa can make it for the movie. We watched Chronicles of Narnia. Quite a nice show. Try and catch Kungfu Panda too, if you can. It's a very nice movie.

Combine Service

Combine Service

We had combine service at 9am today. Yes, all those in youthnet (including us) had to wear red. =) We had an hour of praying.. Wow.. but we did it, hurray!

After the service, Joyce and Pearl joined me for lunch. We had Mac at Airport and after that we joined my friends. Enn Mee and Lauren joined the 3 of us for "coffee" too, at Yakun.. It's a nice time talking.. How i wish the rest of u can join us too. Maybe next time.

All of you who came for cell reunion lunch received a red packet from me. You must be shocked to see the bookmark inside.. heehee.. It's my practise to give my girls "ang pow" during CNY. However, this year's a little difference, i decided to give u a handmade bookmark instead of candies. Hope u like it. Those who did not come, sorry, I gave ur "ang pow" away. Cos nobody gives red packet after CNY (15 days).

The reunion lunch was quite fun, lol.. we actually 捞水果 instead of the normal "yu sang". Someone gave me new ideas of the "lo hei". Shall not tell u now.. Leave a bit of anticipation for next year. Hehe..

There is None Like Him

Good Morning!

I'm now in my staff room, right in front of my desk. Today's the 16th day into the year of Sabbath. How's your quiet time with God? Did you hear His voice? For me, i have to wake up earlier everyday to make sure i read the psalms before i take my first meal. On some days, I need not wake up that early, cos i have a few free periods before my lesson starts, hence, i will sit at my own work station and do my devotion.

I feel so peaceful after doing my devotion in the morning before i start work. Let me assure you, it's really good to do devotion in the morning, before u begin your normal routine. I just finished my devotion for today. Have you been reading the materials that Pastor Debra gave us?

King David is my favourite Bible character, u know why? Cos King Solomon built the temple of God, but the temple of God in King David's heart. He's a man after God's heart. King David's joy and faith is unshakable cos God possesses His heart so fully. "I have set the Lord always before me. Cos He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken." (Pslam 16:5a - NASB).

I'm rebuilding the temple of God in my heart. What about you? Has Jesus captivated your heart fully? Marilyn Hickey said that "The man who possesses God, and is possessed by God has true joy." Do you have true joy in your life? Do you want to have true joy? Why not renew your heart before God today.

Our First Cluster Meeting

Hello Girls,
Thanks for celebrating my bday and Pearl's as well. Vanessa's not here today, so i guess, we'll probably have to do a make up for it.. =) I've uploaded the pics in our yahoo group already, in case you want them. For those of you who are not around, we took our tribal photo and cluster photo today.. It's sad that you're not around..

Like I've told you last week, we will be clustering with Enn Mee's cell from this week onwards. We'll have combine ice-breakers and worship. Today, is the first time we had our first cluster meeting with Enn Mee's girls, Christina and Diana. They are both Sec 1 this year, take care of them ok? =)

I've already given out a copy of this term's calendar and letter to you, please give it to your parents. For those who are not around, I'll send it via snail mail.. Lol.. I'll give you your calendar next week.

Please try to make advance booking with me, like i've said, i wish to meet up with you at least once, in the first half of this year. Let's focus on building relationship, alright?
